I am honored, grateful, and very excited to serve the Northern California Chapter of the International Public Management Association - Human Resources as President for the next two years. The NCCIPMA-HR Board of Directors, comprised of highly esteemed human resources professionals, is planning new opportunities for professional growth this year - Professional Development Workshops on classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, labor relations, and employee benefits; luncheon seminars on current topics, pertinent to today's economic climate; social events; and an annual conference. I wish to personally invite and encourage you and your colleagues to participate in the Chapter's activities and events this year.

Over the next two years, the NCCIPMA-HR Board will focus its efforts on supporting and promoting the ever-popular Professional Development Workshops, and on developing and implementing a succession plan for the Board. I am proud to say that the success of our Professional Development Workshops distinguishes the Northern California Chapter from all the other Chapters in the Western Region, and it makes our Chapter an example for many others.

I wish you a great year, I thank you for your continued support and participation in NCCIPMA-HR, and I look forward to seeing you at the Chapter's first activity for the year - a social event scheduled for September 16, 2010 in San Jose.
